This tea is hand-picked in early spring in March 2014. Every twig consists of 1 bud and 1 leaf, collected from old tea trees. The tea garden is totally sustainable. It's a natural farming tea garden. No pesticide or fertilizer is used.
Tea gives a sweet grassy note with herbal-like flavor, with a hint of dried fruity note like plums. Because of tea is very carefully processed, and the tea substances are well-retained, and it's reflected on its fullness in both taste and flavor. In order to enjoy the fresh scent of well-made tea, I would like to introduce it as a loose tea, we called it mao-cha. After several years of aging, it produces a hint of dried fruity scent.
The tea named as Ming Qian Bai Hao, Ming Qian (明前)means before Qing Ming Festival (4th or 5th April of every year).
Bai Hao means white down. During the early season in spring, the young tea bud and leaf is covered with white down.
This tea was produced in March. It is the first-plucked of tea after the long resting period. So, tea trees have accumulated a rich content of minerals and tea substances. During this period, the weather is a little cooler at night, so tea trees preserved most of its nutrition substances. As a result, tea gives a soft drinking sensation with smooth mouth-feel. It's not bitter or astringent. Instead, it gives a comfortable lingering sweetness on palate.
