Jiang Hua in Chinese means ginger flowers.

The name of the variety comes from the fact that it smells like ginger flowers. Its unique flavor and the strength of the scent stands out among the many varieties of Phoenix oolong, and because of its splendor, we purchase it every year.

Ginger is normally considered as a tropical plant and is a plant rarely seen in Japan. This plant is found in Malaysia, although many people might not aware of its fragrant. When you actually smell the scent of ginger flowers, you will be very surprised that it really reminiscent the flavor of this Phoenix Jiang Hua Xiang. Its flavor also reminiscent of plums, daffodils and tropical fruits such as mangosteen.

The production area is the Qi Xin An village of Wu Dong Mountain in Phoenix. It is made from old tea trees at high altitude of about 900m. Tea is moderately baked with traditional charcoal fire. The baking is slightly deeply than ordinary refreshing type of Phoenix oolong. So, tea is giving a comfortable warmth drinking sensation.
