We have been introducing Phoenix Oolong Jiang Hua Xiang for many years.

This year we introduce a new lineup called Jiang Mu Xiang (姜母香). This is a rare Phoenix Oolong, and it's very hard to get this flavor. It all depends on the skill of the tea master in making oolong tea in addition to the weather and growing environment of this tea tree. Because of this tea is quite difficult to produce and get the ideal flavor, it's very rare. WE have been introducing Phoenix Oolong for many years, and this is the first time we encounter this flavor in Phoenix Oolong. It gives an unique flavor like Galangal (南姜), which has a sharp citrus-like, almost piney flavor, and it has a warm and comfortable drinking sensation.

This tea is produced in Dong Xing Village in the south of Phoenix Mountain. When I first sipped this tea, I was surprised by its strikingly unique note that resembles galangal, one type of gingers. Galangal is an indispensable spice for Thai food and is always added in Tom Yum Kung soup. Galangal is an indispensable spice for cooking in Southeast Asia and is often used in Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine too. The scent of Jiang Hua Xiang is just like Galangal, and I cannot help but associate it with fresh Galangal. It is very rare for me to smell Galangal as the scent of tea, and this was my first experience.
