Taiwan is famous for its oolong tea, but in the area around Sun Moon Lake, a black tea called Ruby Red Tea is produced.

This tea is made from an Assam tea cultivar and has a menthol flavor reminiscent of Sri Lanka's Uva tea.

Additionally, in Taiwan, a small-scale production of Mi Xiang/ Muscatel black tea, made from similar raw materials as Oriental Beauty, also takes place.
