Unlike the tea garden systems in Japan and Taiwan, Yunnan's tea plants grow like individual trees in the mountains, without any pruning. This allows the tea to grow slowly over time, developing a rich flavor.

HOJO specializes in sourcing naturally cultivated tea from Yunnan, with no fertilizers or pesticides. Many of these teas come from ancient trees aged between 100 and 500 years.

Given these ideal conditions, there is no better place in the world for high-quality tea material than Yunnan Province.

However, the challenge with Yunnan tea is that the tea processing technology is not very advanced. To address this, HOJO stays on-site for two months during the spring tea season, working with producers to manage production and assist in improving tea processing techniques.
